Acura has released a new generation of the NSX supercar

Twenty-five years ago, the first Acura (Honda) NSX appeared on the market and helped define the relatively affordable super sports segment at the time. The second generation has been appearing in the form of concepts at the world's motor shows for some time already, but only now has it been given its final form.

And it must be admitted that it looks almost as famous as several previous concepts (and has much better aerodynamics). A truly aggressive front end with LED headlights and larger air intakes is followed by prominent air intakes at the front and rear wheels and taillights, reminiscent of the original NSX . The icing on the cake is the quad exhaust tips, rear spoiler and wheels measuring 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear, shod with Continental ContiSportContact tires measuring 245/35Z R19 and 295/30Z R20, respectively. The interior is definitely impressive with anatomically shaped red leather seats with black centers. The same colored leather was also used on the central tunnel, which is also made so as not to obstruct the driver's right knee , while the dashboard, on the other hand, is decently black with a large number of aluminum details. The instrument panel consists of an analog tachometer and a TFT display, which transmits data about speed and other operating details.

The basis of the supersport is a spatial frame made of high-strength steel, aluminum and other light materials, the floor is made of carbon fibers. The heart of the NSX is a six-cylinder gasoline engine with double turbocharging , complemented by three electric motors. Two can be found in the front, the third is in the back between the engine and the nine-speed dual- clutch automatic transmission with paddle shifters under the steering wheel. The front electric motors are mainly used for the immediate supply of torque, the rear electric motor helps acceleration, braking and shifting speed of the automatic transmission. The entire system is referred to by Acura as Sport Hybrid SH-AWD , which in addition to the hybrid layout also means the use of all-wheel drive. Stopping is done by Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes.

In order for the powertrain to fit into the car, the dimensions had to increase slightly compared to the concept. The length thus settled at 4470 mm (+ 80 mm), the width at 1940 mm (+ 35 mm), the height at 1215 mm (+ 15 mm) and the wheelbase at 2630 mm (+ 20 mm). The wheel track at the front is 1655 mm, at the back 40 mm less, both axles use the services of an all-aluminum independent suspension. As is modern among sports cars today, the NSX will offer a choice between the four driving modes Quiet, Sport, Sport+ and Track of the Integrated Dynamic system. The default setting is Sport mode, in Quiet mode the NSX will drive very little, as it uses mainly electric power, leaving Sport+ and Track modes as the most used. The first-named will improve the car's response, slightly stiffen the chassis and the sound of the engine, the second-named, just from its name alone, is suitable mainly for racing circuits, where it allows the full potential of the car to be used. There is also the Launch Control system.
