lightweight Jaguar E-Type goes into production

In 1963, Jaguar planned to produce 18 lightweight Jaguar E-Types . But they made only 12 of them, so they decided to fulfill their intention at least fifty years after the production of the last piece. This will create 6 completely new cars, which will be made by hand in exactly the same way as the original cars.

The lightweight version lost 114 kg compared to the classic E-Type . This was mainly caused by aluminum parts, such as the engine block or body panels. The spartan interior and the absence of chrome decorative accessories were a matter of course. Under the hood was a 3.8-liter inline six-cylinder engine with an output of 198 kW. Modern examples will also get it, but the output will be higher, namely 224 kW. The gearbox is a four-speed manual.

These cars will hit the market around the end of the summer. And the price will not fall below 1 million pounds (less than 34 million crowns). So it is very likely that these cars will end up in the hands of collectors.
