Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge – A preview of sharp models

The luxury offshoot of the Japanese brand Nissan , Infiniti , has been trying to make inroads among the sporty brands for some time now, and so far not very convincingly. A recent novelty, the Q50 Eau Rouge model, which the automaker calls the design vision of a powerful version of this sedan, points to a possible change.

It has long been known that the Q50 Eau Rouge with its design and aerodynamic solution inspires Formula 1 specials , so the resulting appearance is not surprising. The base is a distinctive carbon fiber bodykit , including a rear diffuser with two huge tailpipes and an LED light between them. This Infiniti is primarily intended to find out the reactions of the professional and lay public to a potential similarly cut model. The light alloy wheels used have a diameter of 21 inches and are installed in wheel arches that are 20 mm wider than the stock model.

The interior is dominated by Recaro seats , a sports steering wheel covered in Alcantara with F1-style paddles and carbon fiber decor. The president of Infiniti , Johan de Nysschen , made it known that sports-oriented cars are important for the brand and that he personally insists on the production of the Q50 Eau Rouge concept , in which he would like to see around 500 hp and 800 Nm . He stated that the options are a 5.6l V8 or a twin-turbo 3.7l V6 . In theory, the twin-turbo 3.8l V6 from the Nissan GT-R , or the twin-turbo 5.5l V8 from Mercedes-Benz , should not be out of the question either.

So it is possible that we will see a similar car from Infiniti on the roads, at least in a limited series. But when that will happen, what unit will appear under the hood and how much the model will cost, we do not yet know. However, we will inform you as soon as we find out more.
