Lexus GS in a coupe body? Maybe next year!

It's been less than a year since Lexus was rumored to be producing a coupe GS series. During the big carousel surrounding the launch of the basic sedan, other supplementary information was apparently forgotten, but today we are going to revive this topic.

It is quite natural that all car companies try to expand their portfolio in order to offer almost everything to existing and new customers. The main market for Lexus is still America, where it rightfully wants to become the number one seller of premium vehicles. The new GS with a coupé body would thus replace the SC 430 model, which was discontinued in 2010. However, overcoming the competition in the form of the Audi S5 , BMW 6 Series or Mercedes E Class seems to be a very difficult task.

However, speculations arise not only about the arrival period of the model itself, but also about the power units. Lexus will probably pull out the caliber in the form of a hybrid device from the GS 450h model, the top version could be fitted with an updated ten-cylinder from the LFA model. Here, however, the original volume of 4.8 liters will be reduced to 4.6, and the unit would then show an output of around 450 horsepower.

Official reports are not available yet, so we have to make do with whatever is available. Among other things, it also came to light that the GS coupe model will reach dealers already in the third quarter of next year with a price tag of around 65,000 dollars.
