Lamborghini introduced the successor to the Gallardo, the Huracán model

When we brought you the latest renderings and unofficial information about the successor to the Gallardo named Huracán on Sunday, we didn't expect Lamborghini to come out with the official presentation of the model so soon. It happened and we can welcome the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 before Christmas!

After 14,022 Gallardos were produced , making it the most successful Lamborghini in history, according to the automaker, it was time to move to a completely different level. This is especially noticeable when looking at the appearance of the body – you will hardly find a Gallardo in it. The main inspiration was the bigger sibling Aventador , which is evident in the shape of the front headlights with LEDs, and the limited models Veneno and Sesto Elemento . The shape of the LEDs in the rear lights has already become a characteristic element of the new Lamborghinis.

The interior is also miles away from its predecessor. The main element here is the 12.3-inch color TFT display , which gives the driver information about almost all information – from navigation to the number of current revolutions. The design of the center panel with a large amount of carbon and an original engine start button is completely new. Nappa leather and Alcantara were used for the upholstery, and a large number of color combinations will reportedly be available.

The chassis of the new Huracán is made up predominantly of carbon and aluminum, thanks to which the coupe has a dry weight of 1422 kg . The heart of the model is a 5.2- liter ten-cylinder engine with an output of 610 hp at 8250 rpm with a torque of 560 Nm at 6500 rpm. By combining direct and indirect fuel injection (referred to as Iniezione Diretta Stratificata ), the engine has more power and torque at the cost of lower consumption than the Gallardo with the same engine. Thanks to the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission LDF ( Lamborghini Doppia Frizione ) and electronically controlled all-wheel drive, the Huracán can reach a speed of over 325 km/h, accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and reaches double speed in 9.9 seconds. Combined consumption is a difficult 12.5 l/100 km , CO2 emissions are 290 g/km.

The steering wheel of the new Lamborghini is not only beautiful to look at, but you can also use it to choose one of the three driving modes – Strada, Sport and Corsa. As usual, the response and sound of the engine or the settings of the transmission, all-wheel drive and electronic stability control are adjusted according to the selected mode. Carbon-ceramic brakes ensure a safe stop. Lamborghini Dynamic Steering and MagneRide electromagnetic shock absorbers will be available for an additional fee.
