Lamborghini Gallardo bid us a final farewell this year, and the eyes of the motoring world slowly focused on the successor of the popular Italian bull . It was originally supposed to be called Cabrera , but as reported by the British Auto Express , Lamborghini changed its decision at the last minute.
At the beginning of next year, we will not welcome Cabrera but Huracán , which is the Spanish word for hurricane and also the name of the Mayan god of fire, wind and storm. And the new Lambo will really be a hurricane or a real "fičák". The rival Ferrari 458 or Porsche 911 Turbo will come with a 5.2- liter ten-cylinder under the hood, which will have an output of about 600 horsepower. Gone is the automated e-gear manual, the Huracán gets a seven-speed DSG automatic . All-wheel drive will remain, however.
Supporters of manual shifting and rear-wheel drive will also be waiting, but according to the British, this will happen only with the arrival of one of the special versions. The design itself will be significantly influenced by the brand's latest models , i.e. Aventador, Veneno or Sesto Element. The wedge-shaped profile of the body will be preserved, but compared to the Gallard, the front hood will be lower and longer, while the rear will be set higher. We will also see three air intakes in the front part and two that will be located in front of the rear fenders.
The new Lamborghini will share the platform with the upcoming second generation Audi R8 , which will arrive in 2015. Thanks to the abundant use of aluminum and carbon on the body and on the aforementioned platform , the weight will decrease by about 30 kg compared to the predecessor . In rear-wheel drive, the Huracan could weigh less than 1,300 kg.
Similar to the Gallardo, in this case too we will see an open version with the classic Spyder designation . About 12 months after the coupe, a model with a classic canvas roof and technology will appear, which will match the closed version. The price should then be slightly higher compared to the coupe, which will start at roughly 180,000 pounds (approx. 5,874,000 CZK).
