By 2016, we could expect a BMW M8

The BMW M8 has been talked about in the corridors for some time already, but in practice we have only seen the i8 plug-in hybrid sports car . However, this is about to change, because the factories of the Munich carmaker are still working on a pure gasoline supersport.

According to the German Auto Bild , it could be based on the already mentioned i8 , but compared to it, it would have a twin-turbo eight-cylinder gasoline engine with an output of around 600 horsepower under the hood. The weight itself would not exceed 1500 kg thanks to the carbon frame for the passengers.

At such values, the maximum speed reached somewhere around 322 km/h , and the M8 could accelerate to 100 km/h in about 3 seconds . By doing so, the Munich carmaker would make wrinkles for example Porsche , Ferrari or even Lamborghini .

However, we will have to wait a little longer for the final result. The M8 will not arrive before 2016 .
