Lamborghini Cabrera – New Info & Renders!

The aging Lamborghini Gallardo will receive a successor next spring, so it's high time to summarize the available information about the model nicknamed Cabrera . We also got you new renders of the possible appearance of the ten-cylinder bull.

In terms of design, the Gallardo successor will reportedly be based on the Sesto Elemento concept or the limited edition Veneno. So we can expect a dramatic look full of curves, which also shows off the larger Aventador . Technically, the Cabrera was originally intended to be original, just like its bigger sibling, but it will end up sharing a number of elements with the upcoming second generation Audi R8 . This means a spacious frame, abundant use of aluminum and carbon fiber-reinforced plastics. This will result in a lower weight compared to the current Gallard .

Cabrera should not differ too much from Gallardo in terms of size, at least in terms of width and height. The length should be extended by approximately 16 millimeters and the wheelbase value will also increase. The related Audi R8 is supposed to be an additional 30 mm longer.

The car will once again be powered by a 5.2-liter, naturally aspirated 10-cylinder petrol engine , which will be a modified version of the current one in the Gallard . Power is estimated at around 600 horsepower and a torque of roughly 540Nm . Compliance with the EURO 6 emission standard is a matter of course.

Gallard manual and automatic transmissions will be replaced by a dual-clutch seven-speed automatic , which will also appear in the Audi R8 . All four wheels will be driven as standard, while special versions set in motion only by the rear axle are expected to be offered.
