Nismo will develop the next generation GT-R

Nissan 's sports and racing division , Nismo , will most likely become the main developer of the next-generation Nissan GT-R , due to arrive in 2016. This was hinted at by Andy Palmer , the brand's vice president, for the Australian Motoring magazine .

“Moving into the next-generation GT-R, you'll likely see Nismo's leadership. Cars of this brand are sold in Europe and Asia through specialized dealerships, called Nismo Performance Centres. Through them, we also sell the GT-R supersport, which is something like the flagship of the brand. So it's only natural that this company will lead the development of the next generation of this model," said Palmer .

However, for Nismo, this operation would represent a big leap forward . Until today, the subsidiary company of Nissan more or less modified standard cars . But according to Palmer, the operation can bring other benefits, particularly in the development of GT1, GT3 and Japanese Super GT racing cars: "You develop your racing reputation from the very beginning," he said.

As you probably already know, the next generation GT-R will receive many components from Williams , which has become the exclusive partner of Nisma. Also, speculation is growing that the future GT-R will be a hybrid or plug-in hybrid . However, parent company Nissan has not yet confirmed or denied either.
