Alpina continues to produce new models

Germany's Alpina presented its first interpretation of the new BMW 3 Series in March in Geneva. The B3 Bi-Turbo model got a 3.0-liter six-cylinder gasoline engine with two turbos and 410 horsepower under the hood. However, as is usual with the German brand, it will also reach fans of diesel engines .

That's why the Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo will be presented in Frankfurt in sedan or station wagon Touring versions . The basis of both models (B3 and D3) is the same. The chassis was modified, decent work was also done on the appearance (new bumpers, nineteen-inch wheels), interior and equipment.

Under the hood, however, there will be a 3.0 diesel six-cylinder with a pair of turbochargers , which has a power of 350 hp and a torque of 700 Nm, in combination with an eight-speed ZF automatic. The sedan can accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, the maximum speed is 278 km/h. In today's world, consumption cannot be missed – the D3 Bi-Turbo "eats" only 5.3 l/100 km and emits 139 g of CO2/km into the atmosphere. The Kombi Touring will be a tenth slower and a tenth thirstier, but it will surpass the sedan in terms of practicality.

In its basic configuration, the D3 Bi-Turbo will have rear-wheel drive. However, all-wheel drive can be purchased for an additional fee (only for the station wagon version), as well as a limited-slip differential.
