Korea 's Kia has released official information on the start of sales of the K9 flagship in the domestic market. If you have a crush on this exact piece here too, you have to wait a while. The European market will not see the new Kia until later this year. Interestingly, however, it should not be offered in the UK.
The external shapes of the K9 will suit European customers more. In the front part, we encounter a radiator grille, not unlike the new Kie Cee'd . The headlights remind me more and more of the current generation of the BMW 7 series, next to which the limousine can boast in terms of dimensions. The new Kia K9 has grown to 5090 mm in length, 1900 mm in width and 1490 millimeters in height. The wheelbase of 3045 millimeters really won't offend anyone.
The interior of the new Kia is also not completely unambiguous. The steering wheel is similar to the Infiniti M , the center console and the tunnel are again closer to the BMW. However, the interior is equipped with premium leather upholstery, metallic center tunnel trim, and a seventeen-speaker Lexicon audio system. In addition to plenty of space, customers can also enjoy an entertainment system with two displays on the back seats.
Apart from practical conveniences, however, we can find a whole range of smart electronic helpers here. Let's name, for example, the lane departure assistant, blind spot monitoring in the mirrors, adaptive cruise control or a camera system that facilitates parking and weaving between parked cars.
At the very beginning, the Kia K9 will be offered with two engines. The basis is a six-cylinder MPI with a volume of 3.8 liters and a maximum output of 213 kW. A step higher is also the V6 with a volume of 3.8 liters, but with the designation GDI and an output of 246 kW. Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard, which transfers torque to the rear wheels.
The start of international production of the Kia K9 is scheduled for the third quarter of this year. In the European specification, we will probably see one of the aforementioned gasoline engines, but diesel units will play a leading role.
Prices on the domestic market start at CZK 890,000 or CZK 1,064,000 for the stronger version.
