Shelby GT500 with 671 horsepower

Although the top version of the Ford Mustang (that is, the Shelby GT500 ) was presented to us at the end of last year, the automaker has only now published all the technical parameters regarding the power unit.

This is a forked eight-cylinder with a displacement of 5.8 liters supercharged by a mechanical compressor, thanks to which the value of the maximum power is just under the 500 kW limit. Specifically, it is 494 kW (671 hp) at 6,500 rpm, which are sent to the rear axle via a six-speed manual transmission. The torque then reaches a value of 855 Nm achievable from 2200 to 5800 revolutions per minute.

What do these numbers tell us? That under the hood of this beauty hides one of the most powerful mass-produced eight-cylinder engines of today. But don't think that all the performance is only suitable for sprinting from one traffic light to another. The goal of the car company was to create a complete sports tool capable of transferring its potential on race tracks. Both the powerful Brembo braking system and the excellently tuned chassis should help with this.
