Zagato – two Aston Martin birthday gifts

The British manufacturer of sports cars, Aston Martin , celebrates 100 years of its existence this year. The Zagato studio also joined the congratulators, presenting two special models – the DBS Coupé Zagato Centennial and the DB9 Spyder Zagato Centennial .

DBS COUPÉ ZAGATO CENTENNIAL

This modified coupe was prepared for an unnamed young and prestigious Japanese businessman. It is based on the DBS model and therefore under its hood we find a V12 unit . Zagata 's chief designer, Norihika Harada , says of the piece: "Redesigning the DBS model was a challenging job. The DBS is one of the most beautiful modern sports cars . For us, the challenge was to combine a sporty look with the feeling of a luxurious Mediterranean GT, all accompanied by classic Zagato quality."

DB9 SPYDER ZAGATO CENTENNIAL

The open version of the car follows the DB7 Zagato model from 2001, of which 99 units were sold out at the Paris Motor Show, even before the start of production itself. The same team is behind the DB9 Spyder Zagato Centennial and the car's new owner is the well-known American collector Peter Read . He says about the creation: "The DB9 Spyder Zagato Centennial perfectly combines the DNA of the Aston Martin and Zagato brands. It does this using Zagato 's signature elegant design and the soul, power and prestige of Aston Martin , elements developed over its hundred years of existence. This car embodies the timelessness of the Aston Martin and Zagato brands .”
