Last year in Geneva, Lotus showed a prototype of the open Exige S Roadster . Year after year and the car company's money in the account came together, and the British car company will finally start producing another car for pleasure.
It can be seen from the first photo that the roof is really missing compared to the coupe . The design is otherwise completely identical. It's nothing new under the hood either – the 3.5-liter turbocharged six-cylinder has an output of 350 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and a torque of 400 Nm at 4,500 rpm.
So what else is there? Above all, the weight of the entire car, which dropped by 10 kg to the resulting 1166 kg . However, this does not mean any improvement in dynamics. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes place in exactly 4 seconds, the maximum speed is limited to 233 km/h (coupe 274 km/h).
A six-speed manual takes care of power transmission. The basic price of the model was calculated at 52,900 pounds (approx. 1,614,000 CZK). In addition to Britain, the Exige S Roadster will also be seen in Japan and selected European markets. However, North America has to lose its appetite.
