To the majority's disappointment and insidious joy of "green brains", the entire engine range of the new 3 series will be composed of blown aggregates. What to pay, we can finally be happy that there won't be a new M3 hybrid…
In any case, the development is still hard at work, and this fact is well documented by the spy photos from the Northern Loop . All that remains is to complete the confirmed message. The new BMW M3 F80 gets a fork-shaped three-liter six-cylinder engine with twin-scroll supercharging under the hood. In addition to certainly excellent fuel consumption (who cares about the M3?!) we can count on a maximum power of 320 kW and a torque of 548 Nm. The previous M3 with an atmospheric eight-cylinder reached 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, the new model will push the limit a little further. As always, the maximum speed will be electronically limited to 250 km/h.
