After the first presentation of the design and the subsequent revelation of the engines , the large Quattroporte sedan from Maserati has finally been revealed to the public. This luck befell the people of Detroit , because it was here that the Quattroporte was introduced.
Design -wise, it is a blend of the outgoing Quattroporte with GranTurismo coupe styling. It is visible in the front part, where the position and size of the mask with a trident have hardly changed, but on the contrary, lights have been added in the style of the mentioned coupe, but also in the rear part, where the composition of the lights is strikingly reminiscent of the GranTurismo. The chrome strip is also similar.
At first glance, the interior of the model is completely different from its predecessor. This assumption is also confirmed at a second glance. The center panel is dominated by the large touch screen of the Maserati Touch Control multimedia system. It is pleasant that the alarm clocks remained analog. Also new is the steering wheel or around the ventilation outlets with a stylish clock. In addition to the new design, we can also expect even better materials and, above all, better quality of processing, which has been the target of frequent criticism.
Dimensionally, the Quattroporte is quite a big cat. Why not, when it is 5263 mm long. The width of the sedan is almost two meters (1948 mm to be exact) and the wheelbase of 3170 mm is also not like that of a small car. Compared to the outgoing Quattroporte , the novelty has an 80 liter larger trunk (450 vs. 530 liters), but weighs about 100 kg less .
The role of the basic unit under the hood was given to a three-liter six-cylinder engine with an output of 410 horsepower . With it, the Quattroporte accelerates in 4.9 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of up to 285 km/h. The more powerful unit is a 3.8 twin-turbocharged 530-horsepower eight-cylinder . With it, the Quattroporte accelerates in 4.7 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of up to 307 km/h. Both engines are connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. However, you can have the weaker six-cylinder with four-wheel drive on request
Sales of the new sedan will start around the middle of the year . Then we have to wait a few more weeks for the base price.
