Chevrolet introduced the new generation Corvette, returning to the Stingray name!

Chevrolet has long kept its flagship model for this year a secret. The Corvette C7 was revealed only at the turn of last year and this year with the help of several leaks and renders . However, Chevrolet still resisted and the model is only now making its official premiere! However, even before the debut itself, the first, apparently official, photos of the new generation leaked onto the Internet, which we bring to you in our gallery.

In terms of design, the model follows partly on its predecessor, partly on other models of the brand and partly also on the Stingray concept from 2009 . The front part will attract lights with modern LED diodes, as well as the bulging hood, which is characteristic of vehicles with the Corvette designation. Another already classic detail is the long front hood and the cabin moved far back. The same is true of the seventh generation. If we look at the rear part, the quadruple "laufs" of the exhaust and also the interesting rendering of the rear lights will certainly attract attention. It was also announced at the premiere that the newly introduced generation will also carry the legendary Stingray designation.

Under the hood of the seventh generation, we find a new eight-cylinder small-block LT1 series with a volume of 6.2 liters. The engine will offer direct injection, variable valve timing or a compression ratio of 11.5:1, thanks to which the new "Vette" has a power of 450 hp and a torque peaking at 609 Nm. Either a seven-speed manual with paddles under the steering wheel or a six-speed automatic will be connected to the engine. The new Corvette C7 will also offer 5 driving modes – Weather, ECO, Tour, Sport and Track. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes place in exactly 4 seconds .

And the closest competition? The first one that comes to mind is the new SRT Viper (10-cylinder 8.4 – 640 hp, 812 Nm). However, the fact remains that the Corvette C7 will also have to fight for customers with the upcoming Honda NSX, Audi R8 or Porsche 911 .
