Volvo V40 Cross Country revealed before Paris

The current generation of models from the Nordic car manufacturer Volvo has really succeeded, and it practically does not matter whether we are talking about the attractive sedan S60 or the new Volvo V40 , which will also be shown to the world for the first time at the International Motor Show in Paris in a version with the nickname Cross County .

And as the name already suggests, the novelty will differ from the standard version primarily in its rough appearance, which is due to extensive plasticizing of the lower part of the body and a new radiator grille. Roof rails are also standard and the ground clearance is increased by a good 40 mm.

This stunning hatchback will be powered by a range of power units, led by a turbocharged five-cylinder with a displacement of 2.5 liters with an output of 187 kW (254 hp) and 400 Nm of torque. This particular engine will be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, thanks to which the V40 Cross Country will accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. Savers will be pleased with the combined consumption value of 7.8 liters per 100 kilometers.

The four-cylinder GTDi T4 with a displacement of 1.6 liters with an output of 132 kW (180 hp) and 270 Nm of torque will have even better consumption, to which we must add an additional 30 Nm available for a short time during sharp acceleration. In addition, this engine is characterized by a consumption of 5.5 liters per 100 km in combined mode. If you are asking about the transmission, this engine will be offered with both a six-speed automatic transmission and a manual with the same number of speeds.

We would discuss gasoline power units. And what about diesels? The offer includes both the five-cylinder turbodiesel D4 with an output of 130 kW (177 hp) and 400 Nm of torque, and the smaller D2 with a volume of 1.6 liters with an output of 84 kW (115 hp) and 285 Nm of torque. And while the first-named engine is characterized by a consumption of 4.4 liters per 100 kilometers, the second one managed to get even below 4 liters in the combined mode.
