The Swedish car manufacturer Volvo is a pioneer in the development of safety systems, with which the new Volvo V40 is packed from the chassis to the roof. The car, which caused quite a shock when it was introduced, even already knows the prices at which it will be available in the UK.
The basic version with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder diesel engine costs 19,754 pounds (640,100 CZK). The unit, which is also known from the S60 model as the DRIVe version, provides an output of 84 kW and a torque of 270 Nm. The engine works in conjunction with a six-speed manual transmission and a Start/Stop system. Volvo indicates that fuel consumption should not exceed the limit of 3.7 l/100 km and the production of emissions the value of 94 grams of CO 2 /km. Having experience with small diesels from Volvo , I know that this is not unrealistic!
The new Volvo V40 will make its UK debut at this year 's Goodwood Festival of Speed . Selected customers will even get the chance to drive both the newcomer and the revolutionary V60 Plug-in Hybrid up the famous Goodwood hill.
