British GP: Mark Webber drove for the victory

The ninth race of this year's Formula 1 season is behind us. How did he do? So let's recap the British Grand Prix.

After winning qualifying, the winner of the previous race took the pole position, and Fernando Alonso, driving for Ferrari, is currently the first man overall. Red Bull's Mark Webber started from the second place, and the third was occupied by the legend Michael Schumacher on Mercedes. The start of the race did not bring any exciting moments or collisions, so the order of the leading drivers did not change after the first lap. On the contrary, Vettel collapsed after the start.

The relatively calm course of the race really got going at the very end, when Webber started to attack Alonso, who had been in first position for practically the entire race. However, he attacked four laps before the finish line and overtook Alonso, who was riding on worn tires, without any major problems. Mark Weber thus finished ahead of Alonso for his second victory this season. However, he still managed to keep the lead in the championship. Sebastian Vettel finished third. Schumacher did not repeat the success from the previous race and finished in seventh position.

In a fortnight we can look forward to the German Grand Prix, which will take place after a one-year break at the famous Hockenheimring.

Final order of the British Grand Prix: 1. Webber, 2. Alonso, 3. Vettel, 4. Massa, 5. Räikkönen, 6. Grosjean, 7. Schumacher, 8. Hamilton, 9. Senna, 10. Button. The race did not finish: di Resta, Petrov and Pérez.
