Toyota shows new kei car

Pixis models in all kinds of versions from kei truck to classic kei car are offered by Toyota under license from financially related Daihatsu . In exactly the same way, the Pixis Mega model, which premiered last November as the Daihatsu Wake , also got into the offer of the largest Japanese car company.

The appearance of the 3395 mm long , 1475 mm wide and 1835 mm high minivan probably won't surprise many people, if they know the original Daihatsu. The same can be said about the interior, which, however, abounds in spaciousness and flexibility – its height is 1455 mm, it seats four passengers and not only the rear but also the front seats can be folded down, creating an almost flat surface for sleeping, for example. In addition, a pair of electrically operated sliding doors allows for comfortable exit and entry of passengers to the rear seats. At first glance, the luggage compartment is not very voluminous, but thanks to the openable box with a volume of 90 liters (16 liters in the case of a four-wheeler) in the floor, you can easily increase its height to 1485 mm or hide some items from prying eyes.

A practical property is an additional smaller rear-view mirror on the passenger side, improving the view of the surroundings behind the car, or several other mirrors in higher parts of the interior, also improving the view to the rear. Under the hood we find a three-cylinder gasoline engine with a volume of 0.66 liters in a version without or with turbocharging. The three-cylinder without turbocharging has a maximum power of 52 hp at 6800 rpm and a torque of 60 Nm at 5200 rpm, with a turbocharger it has a power of 64 hp at 6400 rpm and a torque of 92 Nm at 3200 rpm. Both engines are combined with a continuously variable CVT and front or all-wheel drive.
