The Toyota 86 received a new version with a light modernization

In addition to the subtle modernization of the Subaru BRZ , almost identical changes have also been made to the Toyota 86. I write almost on purpose, because the main difference between the two models is the introduction of a somewhat controversial design version of the Cb style .

But let's start with the standard 86 , which received a modified electronic power steering with better feedback and a slightly stiffer chassis. As part of the customization, two new shades of red and blue have been added, and the center console decor has also been modified in the interior. From the second level of the GT, cruise control and an eight-speaker audio system are standard equipment. Under the hood continues the two-liter Boxer with 200 horsepower, the base price is 2,488,909 yen (approx. 512,000 crowns).

The Cb style version was presented as a concept last year at the tuning exhibition in Tokyo and went into series production almost unchanged. It primarily means a completely new front part with oval headlights and a properly rounded bumper with a central air intake and LED strips for daytime running lights. The ribbing on the side of the bodywork is also highlighted, which also highlights the new alloy wheels and the unique paintwork of the bodywork. This can be two-tone on request. The rear part is practically no different from the standard model, only a more prominent spoiler is available for an additional fee.

In the interior, instead of the polished decor of the dashboard, the paneling is made of ebony wood , the instrument panel has also been modified, and the leather-covered steering wheel looks significantly more luxurious than the classic one. As for the changes, that's all – the equipment corresponds to the standard GT level 86, under the hood there is still a two-liter Boxer with an output of 200 horsepower with a manual or automatic transmission. The more luxurious coupe will go on sale on April 23 at a base price of 4,180,582 yen (approx. 860,000 crowns). The machine is 82,473 yen (approx. 17,000 crowns) more expensive.
