Toyota presented a limited edition coupe 86

We have known for a long time that the Toyota GT86 (only 86 in its home country of Japan) is a very capable compact coupe. But how to make a capable coupe even more capable ? The TRD brand is a specialist in this.

The limited edition with the neck-breaking designation 14R60 received several exterior modifications. In the front, you can't miss the absence of the brand logo as well as the completely new bumper, the 18-inch magnesium wheels and new thresholds stand out from the profile, the most interesting thing at the back is the central exhaust tip and the distinctive wing . A less visible modification is the carbon roof, the diffuser is also made of the same material.

The changes are also visible inside. Sports seats with a lightweight construction and carbon dashboard decorations are the first to catch your eye. The steering wheel is trimmed with Alcantara and, like other parts of the interior, it received orange stitching , there are also special carpets and door sills with the TRD logo. In the rear, you would look in vain for rear seats , which are missing due to weight savings, on the contrary, a V-shaped spacer has been added to the trunk.

Those expecting a performance shift will be disappointed. Under the hood is still a four-cylinder boxer engine with 200 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque, but it has at least received an optimized intake , a high-flow air filter and a better oil cooler. The rear wheels are driven via a six-speed manual gearbox, which received a lighter flywheel , a more durable clutch and shorter shifting distances. A straight rear self-locking differential is standard.

No stone was left unturned even on the chassis, which boasts adjustable shock absorbers , new suspension and stabilizers, respectively modified chassis arms and silent blocks. The brakes are more efficient. The price for this beauty was set at 6,300,000 yen (approx. 1,261,000 crowns), with all 100 produced pieces remaining in Japan. A bit of a shame, what do you say?
