Toyota has modernized the Aqua hatchback

The Toyota Aqua is quite clearly the best-selling hybrid car in the Japanese market and one of the best-selling cars overall. The 2015 model year brings a minor facelift , aimed primarily at color lovers.

Several new shades have entered the offer, which are definitely not boring. For example, the orange and pink Crystal Shine pearl lacquer , dark purple metallic or green metallic are only a fraction of the 14 body colors offered. The changes in appearance are particularly noticeable in the lights at both ends of the model – the front ones have a new shape and LED diode discharge lamps for low and high beams, the rear received a new structure and optics. However, the front bumper was also modified with new fog lights and a radiator grille. The interior is especially proud of the improved structure of the piano lacquer on the center console and in the door panels. Similar to the outside, you can also choose from new colors inside, not only for the upholstery, but also for the dashboard lining. Available in red, black, dark gray, brown or blue-black, among others.

Technically, nothing much has changed. Under the hood, the Aqua has a 15-litre gasoline engine in combination with an electric motor with a combined output of 100 hp and a consumption of 2.7 l/100 km (according to the Japanese cycle JC08). Thanks to the differently shaped front and rear fenders, the aerodynamics of the hatchback boast a slight improvement, and the rigidity of the body and the tuning of the chassis have also improved. The basic price on the Japanese market is 1,761,382 yen (approx. 328,000 crowns), L, S and G trim levels are available.

Quite possibly the most interesting element of the entire modernization is the introduction of the X-Urba n version , riding on the wave of fashionable crossovers without off-road ambitions. In the city, the ground clearance increased by 20 mm will surely come in handy, as well as the possibility to pair up to 11 body paints with 33 contrasting shades of elements such as the roof rails, the lower part of the front and rear bumpers, the radiator grille and the sill extensions. In any case, you get 16-inch wheels. The price was set at 2,046,109 yen (approx. 380,000 crowns). At the opposite end of the range is the sporty-looking G-Sports version with a distinctive grille, LED main headlights, dark alloy wheels, aggressive bumpers and blacked-out taillights. The price is 2,377,963 yen (approx. 442,000 crowns).
