Mission accomplished in Australia. All Hyundai cars at the finish line

" I feel good about our performance. During the weekend we made a few modifications to the car and it showed, in a positive way. We've gained valuable experience and we've come a long way since our last rally in Finland, " commented Hayden Paddon .

Thierry Neuville has had another very good performance. After Friday's problems, he gradually worked his way up to the final seventh position, in the penultimate special stage he was even the third fastest. " We had a good last day. We tried to enjoy the track and improved the performance of the car a little bit between each stint. It was a very valuable experience for us and I think we performed well at our premiere in Australia, " said Thierry Neuville.

Australia 's Chris Atkinson finished his home event in tenth place, helping the Hyundai team gain experience with the car's handling on gravel which will be very useful for next season. " It was important for us to get the car to the finish line so that we could gather as much knowledge as possible about the car's behavior. I really appreciate the response from the audience, which has been amazing. Unfortunately, I couldn't get into the right pace at the beginning, and that affected the remaining days, when I was already riding much better. It's great that all our cars completed this challenging rally, " added Atkinson.

Hyundai Team Principal Michel Nandan said: “I want to congratulate Hayden on his best ever WRC finish. He gave a flawless, mature performance. After the success in Germany, we knew it would be different here in Australia and I'm glad we managed to get all three cars to the finish line. It was our first Australian rally and we gathered very valuable experience here. All that remains is to congratulate the Volkswagen team for a great performance and a well-deserved title. "
