Lexus heads to the racetrack

A racing prototype, prepared according to GT3 class regulations , will also be making company to the production Lexus RC at the Geneva exhibition site . However, the novelty will not be seen on the circuit until 2015 .

As the technical parameters show, low weight was a priority when creating the GT3 racing special , which can compete not only in Europe, but also in the Japanese Super GT and Super Taikyu Endurance races. At 4705 mm in length, 2000 mm in width and 1270 mm in height, Lexus was able to compress it to 1250 kg .

Under the hood we find a five-liter eight-cylinder engine , which we already wrote about in connection with the top RC road coupe in the F version. However, in the racing prototype it has 85 more horses , so it produces 540!

Although it is only a concept for now, Lexus will start a test cycle this year , which will be concluded during the next year. The first teams using this Japanese gem will appear on the racing circuit.
