Racing version of the new Corvette C7

The beastly Corvette Z06 will surely please every American coupe fan. However, those who would like to rise to an even higher level have the opportunity to reach for the racing Corvette C7.R , which, like its road sibling , was shown in Detroit.

The basis was an aluminum frame , which is 40% stiffer than the outgoing C6.R. The suspension has been changed compared to the Z06, which is newly adapted for larger and wider racing tires and wheels, behind which more effective brakes are hidden.

Under the hood, according to the regulations of the GT category , an atmospheric eight-cylinder with a volume of 5.5 liters with direct injection will appear. The maximum use of each horse is ensured by top aerodynamics , which are assisted by the front splitter or the massive rear wing. There are also air intakes for cooling the brakes.

The C7.R will see its first sharp action on January 25th at the Rolex 24 in Daytona . Two C7.Rs will also appear in the GT Le Mans class and in June during the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the GTE Pro category.
