Porsche 911 RST – Made for the night

Even as a child, Bjørn Baadsvik from Sandefjord , Norway, was aware of the differences between individual cars. And then he liked the Porsche 930 Turbo . Perhaps it is not surprising that his first car was a Volkswagen Beetle , which he later completely redesigned the interior and shock absorbers. In his twenties, he bought a black Porsche 911 SC of the 930 generation, which five years later was replaced by a gray example of the Turbo version. When he succeeded in realizing his dream, he decided to discover the beginnings of Porsche cars, bought a type 356B T6 Super Cabriolet and restored it to its original condition.

By the time the job was done, he knew he couldn't just sit with his hands in his lap. So he sold his bug and bought a 1969 Porsche 911 T from the US that was in dire need of restoration. It took Bjørn two years, and he only used period parts. Finally, a replica 911 RST from 1973 was created in Gulf colors. Under the rear hood is the new 2.7 engine from the RS version with 200 horsepower. The shock absorbers are from Koni , the brakes are from the 911 S version with ceramic pads and ventilated discs. The RS version also has a complete lightweight body kit and a sporty interior.

It is very easy to enjoy such a great car in Norway. Just get out of the garage and hit the road because all the surrounding roads are absolutely amazing. Bjørn often drives for several hours, yet he is never tired. The sound and feel of an accelerating 911 is simply addictive. And everywhere he goes with his car, people take pictures or film him. His three daughters also fell in love with Porsche cars and often ask him for a ride in the Gulf RST or the 356 , where the wind ruffles their long hair. And Bjørn is always happy to oblige. Only in winter is the wait for the next season tiring. Fortunately, he can devote himself to preparing both cars for the winter.
