Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak in the first pictures

The Peugeot car company released the first images of the upcoming 208 T16 Pikes Peak racing special to the public these days. It will be used in the legendary Pikes Peak International Hill Limb race, which takes place on June 30. We can expect nine-time WRC world champion Sebastien Loeb behind the wheel of the top special.

The Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak will compete in the Unlimited Class category, which means that under its hood we will find a 500 hp turbo engine! Some fans will certainly now recall two famous predecessors, the Peugeot 205 and the 405 T16 Pikes Peak. And the new 208 T16 wants to build on those.

The exterior of the special 208 T16 boasts a very cool design, characterized by carbon side skirts, bumpers and a roof intake. A giant wing found its place on the stern, which will take care of the important downforce. In order for the car to properly hold the track, it gets very grippy Michelin tires .

In the interior of the Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak , you can see a digital instrument panel, a safety cage and or shell racing seats. The specialty is the racing steering wheel covered in Alcantara, on the sides of which there are gear shift paddles.

If everything goes according to plan, the combination of a super-strong special together with the proven driver Loeb will certainly secure another place in the list of records that the predecessors Peugeot 205 and 405 T16 literally broke.
