Modifier Mädchen & Motoren prepared a truly brutal Opel GT

The Opel GT was not a very popular car at the time of its sale, and we can actually only guess whether it was the insufficient image of Opel, the poor quality or the fact that Opel only rebadged the American Pontiac. However, it can be said that everyone will fall in love with this refined GT for circuits .

The German specialist Mädchen & Motore is behind the entire work, which actually used a classic method to modify the Opel GT. Remove everything that is not needed and add a giant engine to it. The Roadster thus lost 175 kg, when it now weighs only 1150 kg . And under the hood? There, look for the 530-horsepower 6.2 LS3 V8 , which is native to the Corvette. The Tremec TR 6060 six-speed manual transmission , sending power to the rear axle, also comes from the Corvette, straight from the top model ZR1.

The Opel body was widened by 80 mm on both sides and received, for example, a new front bumper and a laminate roof, which is replaced by a classic canvas. Eighteen-inch wheels with gold paint and 295/30 tires were supplied by ATS, behind them are six-piston brakes at the front and four-piston brakes at the rear. Both originally from the Porsche 911 GT3 RS . Other technical modifications include a new exhaust system and traction control from Racelogic.

The last stop leads to the interior, which completes the transformation of a classic Opel into a genuine racing machine . Here we can find a safety frame according to FIA regulations, Recaro Pro Racer racing seats or a racing steering wheel with digital alarms. On the other hand, due to the weight, the radio and air conditioning disappeared.
