The new Lexus IS 300h received the Best in Class Car of 2013 award from the Euro NCAP organization. The commissioners of the Euro NCAP organization awarded this award to this premium sedan for its exceptional safety parameters in the " Large Family Car " category.
The new Lexus IS achieved the maximum five-star rating , scoring 91% for adult occupant protection, 85% for child occupant protection, 80% for pedestrian protection and 66% for safety assistance systems. The stated results significantly exceed the prescribed criteria to achieve five stars.
Every year, the Euro NCAP organization announces the models that achieved the best safety test scores in a given category. In 2013, a total of 33 cars classified into seven different categories were tested. The Best in Class rating goes to those cars that have achieved the highest overall score calculated from the results of safety tests focused on the protection of adult passengers, child passengers and pedestrians and for the use of safety assistance systems.
