Leon in racing form, maybe he will even make it to the WTCC

The Spanish car manufacturer Seat will present a specially modified Leon Cup Racer at this year's Wörthersee tuning meeting, organized by the Volkswagen concern . This will be offered to customer teams in the upcoming 2014 season.

The Seat Leon Cup Racer is based on the five-door variant, has gray matte paint with orange accents and a set of 18-inch racing wheels. In addition to the mentioned elements, extended fenders, wheel arches, a two-phase roof spoiler or a tuned chassis are also expected. In order to reduce the curb weight, we only find a safety cage, seats with the HANS system, a multifunctional steering wheel and a TFT display in the cabin.

In the engine compartment there is a turbocharged 2.0 liter TSI four-cylinder engine with a power of 330 hp and a torque of 350 Nm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels through a six-speed DSG gearbox and an electronic differential lock. A sequential racing gearbox and a mechanical differential are available for more demanding races.

Seat Sport Division Director, Jaime Puig , stated: "We expect to be able to offer the Leon Cup Racer to our client teams as early as 2014. In the future, we may also introduce the Cup Racer for the WTCC series with a 1.6 liter engine".

Leon Cup Racer with DSG transmission starts at 70,000 Euros (converted to about 1,798,000 crowns), while the more extreme version costs 95,000 Euros (converted to about 2,440,000 crowns). It should be noted that both tent prices are tax-free.
