Landwind is launching a copy of the RR Evoque

China is famous for copying foreign models , and a few brands have even tried to ban the sale of some of the plagiarized ones through the courts. However, these attempts are mostly unsuccessful, as Land Rover recently proved. He tried to sue Landwind for copying the Range Rover Evoque, but of course he failed. What's more, the X7 SUV is heading to Chinese dealers early next month!

The design is ninety percent exact copies of the Range Rover , while the other ten make up a different emblem, a cheaper rear part or a simpler ribbing of the radiator grille. Otherwise, however, the X7 is one of the most tuned Chinese cars. At least in the pictures. We can expect a whole constellation of color combinations , including a mix with a black roof, the wheels are traditionally large and shiny. It should be noted that the Landwind has a 10 mm longer wheelbase and an overall slightly longer body , although this is not noticeable in the cabin space, at least according to the Chinese media.

The interior is the only place where the customer knows that he is not sitting in a British car for 1.8 million crowns, but in an imitation that is three times cheaper. Yes, we have the basic lines here including the 10.2-inch multimedia system screen . Yes, there are similarly styled and laid out buttons for the electronic parking brake or keyless start. However, the implementation of many details such as the door panels or the cup holders at the back reveals that everything around is just visual tinsel. However, the basic equipment is rich and includes, in addition to infotainment, front airbags, navigation, cruise control, electrically controlled and heated mirrors, automatic air conditioning and an army of safety assistants, including traction control or monitoring the start and descent up or down the hill. Higher grades also have leather upholstery , heated and electrically adjustable seats, audio with eight speakers or a panoramic roof with an area of 1100 x 950 mm.

Under the neatly tidy hood is a turbocharged two-liter four-cylinder from Mitsubishi with a power of 193 hp and a torque of 250 Nm. The front or all wheels are driven via a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.

As already mentioned in the introduction, the Landwind X7 goes on sale at the beginning of August, prices are in the range of 135,000 – 150,000 yuan (approx. 540,000 – 600,000 crowns). Land Rover can only hope that customers will recognize the quality and will, more than the X7, go for the original Evoque.
