Hyundai Santa Fe beats even Range Rover in safety!

The new generation Hyundai Santa Fe was declared the safest car in its class for 2012 by Euro NCAP . Its results in all tested criteria were the best in its class. The Hyundai Santa Fe is thus one of the safest vehicles in the history of tests by the independent organization Euro NCAP and the best large off-road vehicle with a 4×4 drive – beating even the likes of the Mercedes-Benz M-Class and the Range Rover .

Eight of the best cars in their segments, which achieve excellent results across all tests, out of 36 types tested during 2012, received a safety recommendation from the Euro NCAP Organization. In the category "safety of adult occupants" , the new generation Santa Fe scored 96% , and at the same time the highest number of points from the side impact test in history. In the "child safety" category, the D-segment SUV received 89% , while features such as the electronically controlled stabilization system contributed to an 86% in the "assistance systems" category.

The new generation Santa Fe is also the first Hyundai car to be equipped with an active hood, underlining Hyundai's efforts to provide maximum safety to its customers. The hood is activated in the event of a collision with a pedestrian, reducing the intensity of the impact and thus the risk of serious injuries to the pedestrian. The result is 71% in the "pedestrian protection" category. The car thus stands out from its competitors, whose best result in this category is 63%.
