Hyundai has started testing the racing i20 WRC

After several months of intensive preparations, Hyundai Motorsport took the i20 WRC competition car on the road for the first time and started a test program, at the end of which will be the first sharp start of the new special.

The result was a successful first test drive with the latest specification Hyundai i20 WRC competition car on a private test site near the headquarters of the Hyundai Motorsport department in Alzenau, Germany. The Hyundai Motorsport technical team completed the premiere run without any significant problems. It now faces a demanding test program as it prepares to enter the FIA WRC World Rally Championship in 2014.

The first three-day test with a total length of 550 kilometers was followed by the first comprehensive testing of the car, during which various settings were tested and valuable data for analysis was obtained.

"The car hit the road and I have to admit it was an emotionally powerful moment for me to see the latest spec i20 WRC in action for the first time," said Team Principal Michel Nandan . "For the remainder of the year, we have an intensive testing program at various locations across Europe to evaluate the i20 WRC in a variety of conditions and on a variety of surfaces."

The first sharp start of the Hyundai i20 WRC will be the legendary Monte Carlo Rally in January 2014.
