Tomáš Tuhý officially took over seven new Skoda Superb 3.6 FSI V6 4×4 company vehicles from Skoda Auto representatives. The director of the Directorate of the Traffic Police Service of the Police Presidium of the Czech Republic , col. Ing. Tomáš Lerch .

The new highway special vehicles in civilian design were purchased by the Police of the Czech Republic as part of the modification of the existing vehicle fleet intended for the performance of services especially in highway departments. It will thus replace some of the VW Passat R36 vehicles , 16 of which were put into service at the beginning of 2009. Since the beginning of this year, during their work in supervising road traffic in the services of the Police of the Czech Republic, police special vehicles have driven more than 1.5 million kilometers and helped only in this year to detect almost 60,000 misdemeanors and 234 crimes . The total amount of fines collected then exceeded 42 million crowns.

The symbolic key to seven Skoda Superb cars with a six-cylinder FSI engine with a volume of 3.6 l and a power of 191 kW (260 hp) was handed over by col. Mr. Bohdan Wojnar , member of the Skoda Auto board of directors. On the topic of the highway police, Mr. Wojnar said: "The service with the highway police is one of the most demanding tasks that a car can be faced with. It requires not only excellent driving performance, but also robustness and resistance to demanding conditions.”

The new police vehicles with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds and a maximum speed of 250 km/h will also serve as a tool to fulfill the National Road Safety Strategy, which aims to reduce the number of road traffic fatalities to the average level of European countries. " To ensure regular and effective supervision of the safety and flow of road traffic on highways, expressways and other selected roads, a special work team was created by order of the PP. The goal of this team is to eliminate illegal actions by road users, which seriously threaten the safety and smoothness of road traffic, " said Col. Solid.

After the Volskwagen Passat R36 and B7 vehicles, Skoda Superb vehicles are thus another tool for detecting and punishing the most dangerous driver behavior encountered on the highway network. Undoubtedly, the fact that cars of this type can be seen on Czech roads quite often will be an advantage for the performance of covert road safety surveillance tasks.

In addition to the standard equipment from the manufacturer, the police specials that will be assigned to selected highway departments are equipped with, for example, hidden warning LED beacons, two red displays located behind the front and rear glass with the option of choosing displayed inscriptions, which are known from previous highway specials . There is also a GPS device, a radio station or a PolCam PC 200 6 vehicle speed recording camera or a RAMER AD9 C radar speed meter.
