For sale is a unique prototype of Kopřivnice Tatrovka

Already at the beginning of the 1960s, the then management of Tatrovka in Kopřivnica began to think about a successor to the popular "six set troika". At that time, its second specification was on offer, the life cycle of which was planned until roughly the end of the sixties. Therefore, already in 1962, engineers in the Moravian-Silesian city developed two prototypes with the designation 603 A. Originally, both cars had a sedan-type body, but one of them was soon converted into an ambulance. The second prototype retained the stepped body, but it did not help it in production.

The 5065 mm long Tatra 603 A differed from the then 603 at first sight in the shape of the body, which many years later was given to the 613. The streamlined shape was replaced by the classic three-compartment concept, but the 2.5-liter engine at the rear with an output of 115 horsepower remained in this case as well. Although the new type was in every way better than the 603, due to a political decision it did not go into production. The same fate met the less practical ambulance , which, however, became part of the Tatra collections and is now exhibited in the company museum .

The sedan was not so lucky and after many vicissitudes it reached an enthusiast from Uherské Hradiště in a very poor condition . He was not satisfied with the condition of the unique car and entrusted the specialized company Ecorra with an expensive and very lengthy renovation. This was completed in 2013, when the car went on the road for the first time in a long time. Now the owner of Tatra 603 A could change again. An ad was published on the portal i-veteran.cz , offering this unique black car to a serious buyer as an interesting investment. In addition to perfect condition, valid license plates are also an advantage. The price is not listed in the ad, but considering the circumstances, it will certainly not be low.
