Enge bid farewell to the ADAC GT Masters with eighth place

Tomáš Enge and Albert von Thurn und Taxis have completed a season in the ADAC GT Masters . The last weekend took place at the German Hockenheimring circuit, where the Czech-German duo took eighth position in the second race.

"This weekend was like a swing for us. We had technical problems that accompanied us significantly more towards the end of the season than during the year. It started with an engine change right between the second free practice and qualifying. The guys did everything in two and a half hours, which was an excellent job considering the time stress and how hot all the components are after the ride," the Reiter Engineering team rider evaluated the weekend.

The qualification did not go quite as expected for the drivers of the black Camaro GT3 . "Albert was the twenty-third fastest in his section, and I was the eleventh. Of course we wanted more, but at the Hockenheimring we were unable to get the performance of the car onto the track due to the tire grip. We simply lacked grip," Tomáš Enge added to the result.

However, there was no big improvement even in the first run, which Tomáš Enge completed only to collect data after problems with the starter. In the second run, the crew of the German team took points for eighth place. “In the first race, Albert got into eighteenth place, but at the pit stop the starter quit and it took two long minutes for the guys to push it. For this, we also received a penalty of moving up three positions at the start of the second race. So there I started only fourteenth and handed over the car in about tenth place. Albert then crossed the finish line in eighth position. Mere points in the last race are only a small consolation at the end of the season," said Enge , who and his colleague have second place on their account from races at the Red Bull Ring and Slovakia Ring circuits.

"I definitely rate the ADAC GT Masters season positively. We gathered a lot of experience and everything was developing the way I thought it would be. Some circuits fit our car, some don't. But we know where we have to go and we are already preparing for the new season the improvement of the Camaro GT3," concluded Enge .
