On the second weekend of August, the fifth race of the ADAC GT Masters series took place in Slovakia , where the season of the German championship swung into its second half. In the starting field of twenty-six crews, Enge and von Thurn und Taxis won silver.
"On technical circuits like the Lausitzring or the Red Bull Ring, our car performed very well. We didn't do very well at the Slovakia Ring in the past, but through development we have moved the performance of our car very high. This was already shown to us in free practice sessions and subsequently also in qualifying, when I started in the fourth starting position for the second race. Albert had very strong competition, but even his fourteenth place was a promise of a good result, " Enge said on Friday.
In the first race, von Thurn und Taxis started from fourteenth place, and the competitor from Liberec crossed the finish line of the one-hour race in eighth place, with only a seven-second loss to the podium. The riders of the Reiter Engineering team took the podium in Sunday's race, when Enge went from fourth position during the first laps to second place, which the German racer then held until the finish. "It was a very good weekend. We appreciate the result all the more when we remember the times we drove here last year, for example. We really didn't count on this here. This year, this is already the second podium finish in the ADAC GT Masters . Our car moved a lot forward," added the Liberec racer.
The Reiter Engineering team will return to the Slovakia Ring in less than two weeks, with the Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 , with which Tomáš Enge and Stefan Rosina will race the Blancpain Endurance Series .
