Enge's triumphant return!

On the last weekend of March, Tomáš Enge returned to the cockpit of a racing car. At the Pirelli World Challenge , he was able to win two free practice sessions, qualifying and also the Sunday race in the main GT category.

Tomáš Enge started on Friday with two first places in free practice, and American journalists and fans began to remember the achievements of the Czech driver in recent years. The popularity of the Liberec competitor overseas has never faded. "I still have a lot of fans and friends in America, so I was also looking forward to coming here. In addition, I wanted to break the previous bad luck on the local track," Enge alludes to the two race weekends that he did not finish.

It was important on the city line of St. Petersburg Saturday qualification. On a circuit less than three kilometers long, it was difficult to find a so-called clean bike among fifty GT cars. "We finally managed to do that. I was able to do it both on Friday and Saturday. Of course I was very happy, because after such a long break from racing, it boosts your confidence. In addition, I knew that our cars were really well prepared," laughed the driver of the Reiter Engineering team after qualifying.

The first race on Saturday was canceled due to bad weather, so Tomáš Enge did not start from pole position until the second race on Sunday. However, the start was unsuccessful. "I couldn't see the starting traffic light, so I started only when my rivals had started. That meant a slump, of course. Now that I was able to download it back to square one, I have to admit that I really enjoyed it a lot. I overtook one car after another and avoided collisions. The last attack on the first position two minutes before the end of the race was a bit tough, but I knew I could do it. I am glad that we could present our Lamborghini Gallardo FL2 GT3 cars in the best light. Not only my first place, but also Albert's third place among GT-A is an excellent result," added Tomáš Enge .
