Citroën presented the racing form of the C-Elysée

We only had to wait less than two days for the appearance of Citroën's special for the WTCC races , which the French automaker teased us with a video trailer. And it has been confirmed that the C-Elysée family sedan will be the basis of the racing model.

But after the intervention of engineers from Citroën's racing division, it definitely does not look like a family. After all, the entire bodywork has been lowered and widened, it offers a completely new front and rear bumper, a ventilated hood and a massive rear wing. Eighteen-inch wheels with Yokohama tires are the icing on the cake.

Under the hood is a turbocharged 1.6 , which we already know from the DS3 WRC. In the C-Elysée , it has a power of 385 hp and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels by a six-speed sequential gearbox, assisted by a mechanical self-locking differential. The weight has also decreased – with the driver, the French rocket weighs only 1100 kg . The dynamics can be very interesting…

Citroën CEO Frédéric Banzet said: "Choosing the C-Elysée as the basis for our WTCC racing car reflects our commitment to using motorsport as an active means of supporting our business development. With races in Latin America, Morocco, China or Russia, the WTCC calendar is very global and it will be an advantage to drive the C-Elysée sedan, which is very important to us, in front of so many spectators.”
