Audi presented the new generation TT Roadster

The third generation Audi TT , bringing several interesting technical solutions, has already fully established itself in most European countries . So the time has come to come up with an open variant, traditionally referred to as the TT Roadster .

In terms of design, very little has changed compared to the coupe, mainly the distinctive single frame front mask has remained in place. Despite most competitors switching from a retractable canvas to a fixed roof in the past, the TT Roadster retains the canvas , available in three different variants. It only takes 10 seconds to fold and can be done up to 50 km/h. Compared to its predecessor, the entire roof structure is 3 kg lighter, mainly thanks to the use of magnesium . The trunk of the 4177 mm long model has shrunk to 280 liters (this is still an intergenerational increase). Similar to the original closed model, the roadster comes in two variants – the standard TT and the sportier TTS , differing in larger wheels or an aerodynamic bodykit. There have been no changes at all in the interior, so you can still have a fully digital instrument panel for an additional fee.

Under the body we find the modular MQB platform with a large percentage of high-strength steel and aluminum, the weight of the basic TT Roadster is thus only 1320 kg. The basic engine is a two-liter TFSI petrol with a six-speed manual (S tronic automatic and all-wheel drive are available for an extra charge) with a power of 230 hp and a torque of 370 Nm. The second option is a diesel two-liter TDI with a six-speed manual with an output of 184 hp and a torque of 380 Nm. The sporty TTS with all-wheel drive has a two-liter TFSI petrol under the hood, producing 310 hp and 380 Nm. You will reach 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, and you will only be stopped by the speed limiter, set at the mandatory 250 km/h.
