Amazing 2000 Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR AMG now for sale

The entire motoring history is interwoven with a huge number of incredible cars, the vast majority of which only occupied a place of honor on the walls of our children's rooms. And it doesn't matter at all whether it was a 300SL , a Miura or a Ferrari F40 . One such car was undoubtedly the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR AMG , which was originally created as a racing special designed for endurance racing in Le Mans and which is available today at a dealer in Florida for a price of 1.49 million dollars (converted to about 28 .5 million crowns). The fact that the CLK GTR was last available in 2009, even in two copies, speaks of the uniqueness of this offer.

Built in 2000 and featuring a carbon fiber monocoque, the offered piece is a coupe version and has only 2,401 kilometers on the clock. It pampered its previous owner with red leather upholstery, air conditioning, adjustable pedals and a powerful audio system.

And what do we actually know about this wonderful Mercedes? As I already mentioned in the introduction, the vehicle was originally created in 1997 as a GT1 racing special, which was conditioned by the production of a limited series intended for ordinary roads. In addition to seven racing specials, 20 coupe variants and 6 roadsters left the factory in Affalterbach. It is therefore almost impossible to meet a CLK GTR on the road.

"Our" silver beauty with the serial number 17 is powered by a massive 6.9-liter 12-cylinder engine producing 456 kW (612 hp) and 731 Nm of torque. Transferred to the road – acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and a maximum speed of 320 km/h. Not bad numbers at all, don't you think? And just a little gem. At the turn of the millennium, it was the most expensive mass-produced car in the world, which is evidenced by the then price starting at 1.547 million US dollars.
