A rare Jaguar XJ220S is headed for auction

If you're a fan of the British car manufacturer Jaguar, you should prick up your ears. Next week, the unique XJ220S model, which was produced in the number of only 6 copies and whose final price will probably be around the amount of 250-300 thousand US dollars, will go to auction in the Arizona auction house RM Auctions.

The XJ220S was built in partnership with Tim Walkinshaw Racing (TWR) and was intended to secure the homologation of the standard XJ220 for touring car endurance racing at the Le Mans circuit. The basis of the modification compared to the original XJ220-tce was the use of carbon body parts, thanks to which the curb weight dropped to a value of around 1050 kilograms.

It is therefore no wonder that the maximum speed is an incredible 368 km/h. The lion's share of this is the six-cylinder forked doped with a pair of turbochargers with a displacement of 3.5 liters with an output of 507 kW (689 hp) and 712 Nm of torque at 5000 revolutions per minute. However, this particular piece underwent further modifications that pushed the output up to 709 horses.
