2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee – Upgrade for the Chief

The fourth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee has been on sale since 2010 and was first introduced a year earlier at the New York Auto Show . Recently, spy photographers caught a test model on American roads, as an upgrade is being prepared for one of the biggest models of the Jeep brand.

This is the first facelift of the current generation and will carry the 2014 model year. The changes will take place mainly at the front, where we will find redesigned LED headlights and a less noticeable mask. The modernization will also take place at the rear, where we expect lights with LED diodes and an updated hatch. On the contrary, an 8.4 -inch touchscreen with the latest Chrysler UConnect information system will appear in the interior.

Together with the modernization of the Grand Cherokee , the 3.0 -liter turbocharged six-cylinder EcoDiesel from VM Motori with a power of 237 hp, a torque of 550 Nm and a combined consumption of 8.4 l/100 km will enter the US. All Grand Cherokee engines will offer an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. Initially, the turbo-diesel will only be offered on the Limited and Overland trims . The basis of the engine range will remain the 3.6 -liter six-cylinder Pentastar , and we will also find the 5.7 -liter eight-cylinder HEMI or the 6.4 -liter eight-cylinder HEMI .

The public debut will take place next year at the Detroit Auto Show , on January 14, 2013 to be exact.
