Enge presents the new KTM X-Bow GT4: It's a fantastic racer!

Tomáš Enge was at the birth of the racing special KTM X-Bow GT4 from the very beginning. Together with his Reiter Engineering team, he tested for the first time at the Italian Adria circuit. The Czech racer's first impressions of the new car are more than positive.

"After a long development, we headed with the KTM X-Bow GT4 for the first sharp tests at the Adria circuit. After two days, I have to say that I haven't driven a better toy lately. It is a larger kart that handles very well. Another big plus is reliability and endurance," said Tomáš Enge after the tests.

The Reiter Engineering team used the monocoque of the original X-Bow , into which they mounted a safety frame. He then covered the macrolon dome, which folds out just as effectively as in fighter jets. “We used the original engine, which is a turbocharged two-liter from Audi. However, we replaced the original gearbox with a gearbox similar to the one we have in a Lamborghini or Camaro, i.e. from the Holinger company. Thanks to the control of the gearbox with the levers under the steering wheel, we achieved much faster shifting. We also used the brakes or wheels from the Lamborghini GT3. The chassis really went well," the Czech pilot indicated the main changes compared to the stock KTM model.

Engine power is now at 350 horsepower. But in the Reiter Engineering team, they can get even more out of the car. "The car now weighs around one ton and the times achieved are more than good for the GT4 category. Of course, further tests will follow, but also homologation. There is already a lot of interest in our special, because performance versus price is a really big positive for this racing equipment. That's why we want to put the car into a sharp race soon," said the ex-formula 1 pilot in the service of the German team.

“One set of tires and brake pads withstood a full two-day test and could do more. It will not only be a competitive car for European GT4 events, but also endurance racing. It is here that the KTM car could compete with the higher category GT3 cars thanks to its low consumption and saving of components. But only the races themselves will show that. I'm looking forward to taking part in one of the twelve or more hour events," adds Enge about the performance of the new weapon.
