Almost everyone has a car radio in our car. If this is also your case, do not forget that in newer cars, if the car battery is disconnected , the radio may become blocked and it will only be possible to start it by using the code that is used for the activation itself. It is ideal if you have the code available. Then there is nothing easier than writing it to the radio, confirming it, and then you can enjoy perfect and undisturbed music right on your travels. However, don't forget that you won't always have the code available. So what are the other ways you can find it out?
First, look at all the information you have about your car. It doesn't matter whether you bought it new or used from a bazaar or from a private person. You can definitely be lucky and you can find out a piece of paper or information about what the given code looks like. It is also possible to contact the original owner, for example, from whom you can easily find out where you should look for the given code or in what format it is. Sometimes there are car radios where only the basic number combination is used. And what shape is it in? It's 0000.
Authorized service is expensive
Naturally, the possibility of arriving at a specific authorized service center where the code is detected and the radio is activated may be enough for many. If you go this simple route, it's a good idea to not only ask for the radio to be activated, but it's a good idea to ask for the appropriate code as well. It is logically good to note this one down. Even though this route is quite simple, it must be taken into account that it is definitely not one of the cheapest. It can be several hundred crowns, which are charged to you just because you needed to find out a specific car radio code.
You can also use the VIN
For some cars, the so-called VIN may be enough to find out the correct code. That is, the vehicle identification number, which is unique to each means of transport. You can basically find the VIN very easily. Not only is it listed in several places on your vehicle, but it's also listed on your technical license. Once you have that number, it's a good idea to check the internet for different generators available.
These are small programs that contain a database of codes for individual car radios. So that you don't have to look for anything complicated, you simply put your VIN in them, press the button and then find out the car radio code. This activates your radio again and nothing prevents you from driving smoothly with sufficient musical accompaniment.
When the VIN doesn't help
Although the VIN can be an ideal way to find out a specific car radio code, it must be added that not every car manufacturer and not every car has this option. For that reason, you have to consider the third way, which is the most complicated. You will have to dismantle the original car radio. If you've never done it, it's a good idea to look up instructions on the Internet, or get some practical tools for it. These are usually special hooks similar to knitting needles. These can be inserted into specific places in the given car radio.
If you try the disassembly yourself, it is good to know not only the correct type of hooks, but also the subsequent procedure. The first thing to do is insert the tools into the necessary places, which should be related to the fact that you can subsequently unlock the individual locks that hold the radio in place. If this happens, it shouldn't be a big problem to simply pull the car radio out. Pay attention to possible cabling, which should not be damaged or broken.
Find out the serial number of the car radio
Once your car radio has been removed, you need to find out its serial number. This should be on the label from its top, bottom, or sides. If there are more numbers, it's a good idea to write them all down. Once you have, you can put the car radio back into the mounting hole. You can tell that it fits perfectly in it quite simply, by the fact that the individual locks will snap into place.
Now you can dive into finding out the code itself. The procedure in this case is very similar as it was in the case of VIN. You download and install the necessary tool on the Internet, which of course serves to generate the correct number for you. That is the correct code. However, the default value here is nothing more than the serial number of the specific car radio. Once it's in place, you'll usually get a four-digit number at once, which is the combination that's right.
Better not guess the given code
The last possibility that we can imagine together is the path associated with the fact that you decide to bet the right combination. It's definitely not the right way, because you definitely don't have an unlimited number of possible exams. Exactly opposite. For some car stereos, a maximum of three attempts are available. After that, you have nothing else to do but factory unlocking, which will of course be associated with a necessary visit to an authorized service center, which will no longer be cheap. Not only will the radio be put back into operation here, but you will also be given a specific code in connection with it.
In addition to the fact that you should not bet, it is good to think that you must also inform yourself about how the correct number combination is actually entered and what it is confirmed with. You can find this out, for example, in the user manual or another manual that comes with your car. It is also important to remember that you should not get confused. And not several times at all. Possible errors can again be connected to the fact that you block the radio permanently.
