Lotus Evora GTC presented to racing teams

The racing division of Lotus Racing presented a new weapon for GT series races in a rather calm atmosphere.

The Lotus Evora GTC is essentially an evolution of the Evora GT4 , which was introduced in January 2010. As every extra kilogram counts in these parts, the new car has been given carbon doors, a roof and an engine cover. Even the standard windows have been replaced with plexiglass, and to the astonishment of the designers, the entire car now weighs 30 kilograms less. If we talk about specific numbers, the new Evora GTC weighs 1130 kilos.

As a reward for following a reduction diet, the Evora GTC received new wheels with wider tires, an anti-lock brake system from BOSCH and a new traction control system.

The power of the car is supplied by a centrally located six-cylinder engine with a volume equal to 4 liters. Maximum power of 335 kW and torque of 460 Nm is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential XTRAC transmission. However, Lotus did not publish the specific values of maximum speed or acceleration to 100 km/h.

The first Evora GTC was purchased by the McMahon Raceworks team, with whom it will drive a complete American Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car series . Here, British racers Richard Adams, David Green and Martin Byford will sit behind the wheel. However, other cars will also be fielded in Europe, specifically in the British GT championship.
