The original 60 Seconds Eleanor is going up for auction

The career of Nicolas Cage , the central character of 60 Seconds (a remake of the famous 1974 film), may have declined faster than you can say the title of the film. However, the silver Mustang GT500 called Eleanor is still considered an automotive "holy grail" to this day.

11 cars were specially adapted for the filming of the film, of which a total of 3 were used directly on the set. The car with VIN #7R02C173895 , which was among the trio, is now being offered by Chicago auction house Mecum .

The car has been redesigned by Cinema Vehicle Services and has all the important elements that an "Eleanor" should have. Above all, it is silver paint , which is complemented by black stripes stretching across the hood, roof and trunk lid. There is also a front bumper with a pair of additional lights, characteristic wheels or extended fenders.

Under the hood is a 5.8-liter eight-cylinder Ford Racing 351 in combination with a four-speed gearbox. The auction will be held on October 12, and the question is whether the record from this spring's auction, when another of the "Eleanors" sold for $1 million, will be broken.
