The new BMW M4 sports coupe has not even been presented in its serial form yet, and its manufacturer has already announced the decision to field the model in the DTM touring car championship. The M4 DTM special will take to the racetracks in 2014.
The Munich-based BMW decided to rename the coupe version of the three-door sedan to 4 Coupé , so the derived sports variant will no longer bear the famous name M3 Coupé , but will try to make the new M4 Coupé famous. The sharp coupe has only been presented in the form of a concept so far, but as is customary with BMW , the serial form will differ only in small details.
The M4 name will not only change history on regular roads, but also on the tracks of the DTM Touring Car Championship. Here, from the beginning of its participation, BMW mainly used the M3 DTM model (photo in the gallery). From next year, however, we will see the new M4 DTM .
Whether the M4 DTM will be as successful as the previous M3 DTM , we will find out next year. BMW intends to enter the famous championship with a new car already in 2014.
